Panama City Beach

Panama City Beach is a small beach community with a BIG name.  The year round permanent population of the City is estimated to be around 9,500.  As most beach communities the population fluctuates, with summer being the busiest season with a daily population as high as 90,000 people in the summer.

Panama City Beach might be a small town but it attracts hundreds of millions of visitors each year.  With the average air temperature of 78 degrees which creates a mild subtropical temperature year round, it becomes a destination for all the ages.  The white sand beaches are a mixture of quartz crystals that have been broken down, bleached, polished and then displaced along the crystal clear shoreline.  This process has dubbed Panama City Beach home to the “World’s Most Beautiful Beaches”.

There is never a dull moment in Panama City Beach.  Whether it is Spring Break and college students are flocking to Panama City Beach or a family vacation for the 4th of July weekend, there is always something to do.  St. Andrews State Recreation area is one of the most popular recreation spots in Florida.  It boasts 1 ½ miles of white sand beaches, crystal clear water, and natural sand dunes for everyone’s enjoyment.  If it is the nightlife that you prefer, there is a bevy of night clubs, restaurants, coffee shops and nightly live music.  The most popular of all night clubs in the USA is located in Panama City Beach.  Club La Vela is world known as the largest outdoor nightclub in the United States.  If it s a slower paced evening that you prefer, there are plenty of sidewalk café’s to enjoy a delicious fresh seafood dinner all the while listening to your favorite hometown band.

There is plenty of things going on in Panama City Beach to improve the area as well.  There is a major project to relocate and expand the Panama City/Bay County International Airport.  The results of this expansion opportunity will be the conservation of and protection of tens of thousands of acres of land, better air service and competitive rates to and from the panhandle.  The most important development of the newly constructed International Airport will be the economic effect on the community.  The International Airport is estimated to take anywhere between 28-36 months with the first planes landing in the new airport as early as the end of 2009.
